The Albany is an arts centre in the heart of Deptford that exists to inspire, develop and support creativity for the benefit of our community. We are looking for a group of eight people to work collaboratively with us, give us their thoughts and feedback, and help shape the future of our programme and activities.

Who can apply?

This opportunity is open to anyone aged 18+ who lives, works, or has a strong connection to Deptford or Lewisham.

We don’t have a fixed idea about who might make up the Community Council, and no-one needs to have any similar experience to be involved. We are particularly interested in involving people who are under-heard or under-represented in the arts.

What’s the commitment?

Members will join the Council for one year, and will meet six times over the course of that year. They will also be invited to attend Albany events and activities.

The Community Council will be paid for their time in meetings and there is a small budget available for access support, if it is needed.

How do I apply?

Please fill out the form below – you can fill out the questions by text or upload a video message or voicenote if you prefer.

You will notice we do have some demographic questions. These will not play any role in our decision. It is important that the Community Council is a diverse group, and these questions are there for us to ensure we are reaching as many people as possible and to assess how we may improve this in the future. However, if you do not wish to answer these simply select prefer not to say.

What happens next?

We’ll aim to get back to you within a week of submitting your application.

Please let us know if we can provide this information to you in another format or language.
