The Albany to step back from managing Canada Water Theatre

The Albany has had to take the difficult decision not to seek to renew our contract to manage Canada Water Theatre at Southwark Council’s Canada Water Library next year.

Having worked with the council’s library and culture teams since the building opened its doors in 2011, we proudly look back at our joint achievements and we are keen to facilitate a smooth transition into the next chapter of this extraordinary venue. We will miss working with our partners in this wonderful theatre and with relationships built over so many years but are confident that the venue will continue to flourish as a space for local artists and audiences.

We will continue to manage public performances and private hires in Canada Water Theatre and meeting spaces until the end of March 2023, when we will hand over management to Southwark Council. We have an exciting programme lined up this Autumn bringing back theatre, spoken word and live gigs, as well as a Christmas show in December.
