As part of the What Are Statues For? event, join our two-hour workshop to develop photographic responses to statues of Empire. In this workshop you will learn techniques and skills to develop your craft.

We will ask questions about how photography communicates ideas, emotions and politics. The workshop is led by renown photographer, Paul Halliday, from Goldsmiths University, who is a dedicated anti-racist practitioner, and a specialist in documenting the urban landscape.

This event is part of Being Human Festival, the UK’s national festival of the humanities, taking place 9–18 November 2023.

Led by the School of Advanced Study, University of London, with generous support from Research England, in partnership with the Arts and Humanities Research Council and the British Academy. For further information please see beinghumanfestival.org.
